Rhinoplasty
A rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that changes the shape, size and/or functionality of the nose. It can reshape the bridge, tip, nostrils or overall size, improving the nose’s proportion and appearance. The procedure can be cosmetic or medically necessary to correct breathing problems caused by injury, such as a deviated septum.

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a “nose job,” is a cosmetic or medical surgical procedure that permanently improves the appearance and/or functionality of the nose.
You may be a good candidate if you have a bump on the bridge of your nose, asymmetry, large or flared nostrils, and/or breathing problems associated with a deviated septum.
Dr. Beale performs open rhinoplasties, where a small incision is placed at the base of the nose. He uses this technique because it gives maximum visibility and precision. The skin is lifted and the underlying bone and cartilage are fully exposed. This is ideal for complex nose reshaping.
Rhinoplasties are outpatient procedures. You will be sent home with a nose splint and should expect some swelling and pressure. Expect some nasal congestion and bruising during the first week after surgery, and your splint will be removed around day seven. You will notice improved breathing when all swelling subsides at about four weeks.
